Just around the corner from the Bond, you’ll find Yonge-Dundas Square, a beautiful piazza that serves as a meeting place and an event venue for visitors and the downtown Toronto community.

Yonge Dundas Square is a year-round venue, but the summer is when most of the fun stuff happens.

Yoga in the Square

Every Monday in the summer from 12 pm –1 pm, Y-D Square hosts a free community yoga session for all ages, sizes and experience levels. Mats and “yoga ambassadors” are provided by Lululemon.

North by Northeast (NXNE)

Designed to bridge the gap between technology and the arts, NXNE is a 10-day summer festival (from June 7 to 16) showcasing emerging artists, major-label headliners and interactive innovators. A highlight is the three days of free performances at Yonge Dundas Square. The festival also takes place in many of Toronto’s live music clubs.

Franco-Fête

The 37th edition of the Franco-Fête music festival (running July 5 to 7, with free events at Yonge-Dundas Square on July 6 and 7) boasts a roster of children’s performers plus Winston Band, Bombolessé, Akwaba, Les Rats d’Swompe and more.

The 2019 Youth Day Creative Arts Festival (on July 21) will celebrate the achievements of our young people showcasing music, art, dance, film, photography and fashion with 12 hours of performances on two outdoor stages, displays in a tented gallery and a street market.

Taste of the Middle East Festival

The Taste of the Middle East Festival (July 27) features 42 vendors and many performers who’ll help you experience the exotic flavours, music, art and dance of one of the world’s oldest and most accomplished cultures.

Indonesia Street Festival

Indonesia has a population of 264 million people spread over 17,000 islands and speaking more than 700 languages. Celebrating this diverse culture, the Indonesia Street Festival (on August 4) will bring us satays and rendang, music played on gamelans and other traditional instruments and vendors selling Indonesian garments and crafts.

If you plan on hitting up Yonge Dundas Square while you’re in Toronto, the Bond Street Hotel is right next door. Check out our special Shop ‘Til You Drop Package, available now.
