On an impromptu March Break in Toronto? You’ll find some amazingly fun things to do here, many a short distance from the Pantages Hotel. Grab your friends and head out on a Toronto adventure!

Throw an Axe

Experience the thrill of indoor axe throwing at Backyard Axe Throwing League (BATL). This (sort of) extreme activity started in a Toronto warehouse in 2006 and today over 1.25 million people have experienced its thrills. In Toronto, there are BATL venues at the Port Lands, the Stockyards and near Yorkdale Mall.

Face the Obstacles

Pursuit OCR is an athletic facility aimed at bringing recess back into your world! Their 24-challenge indoor obstacle course is built for adults of all fitness levels to be able to complete in about five minutes.

Dive Dangerously

Have you always wanted to swim with the sharks? Ripley’s Aquarium offers S.C.U.B.A.-certified guests a 30-minute guided dive to get close to the wide array of sharks, green sawfish, green sea turtles and other species of fish and invertebrates in their Dangerous Lagoon exhibit. The program includes admission to the Aquarium, a behind-the-scenes tour and souvenir items including pics of your adventure on a flash drive.

Massive Attack

We can’t tell you whether Massive Attack’s keyboard player/vocalist Robert Del Naja is actually Banksy, but you may be able to decide for yourself at this Sony Centre show to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the record “Mezzanine.” This audio/visual extravaganza was designed by Del Naja (and a few collaborators), as were most of the Bristol-based trip-hop band’s record covers. The tour is a one-off audiovisual production that has been, according to Del Naja, “reconstructed from the original samples and influences.” A number of Massive Attack collaborators will join the band on the road, including “Teardrop” singer Liz Fraser of Cocteau Twins. March 11 & 12

Winter Stations

Winter Stations is an exhibition of temporary public art installations along Ashbridges Bay, going east to Balmy Beach. This year’s winning interactive designs include Ground², which prompts users to walk, climb and traverse a manufactured destabilized path, Chairavan, which reimagines the lifeguard tower as a migratory species, and The Forest of Butterflies, a paean to Michoacán, Mexico, the place Monarch butterflies migrate to. To April 1

You’ll be glad you chose Toronto and the Pantages Hotel. There are warmer places to spend your Spring Break, but there’s nowhere more fun!
