Although you may not have seen our city in quite this way before, Toronto is actually a perfect place to celebrate your love! You’ll find an amazing variety of romantic things to here this Valentine’s Day, and many are within a short distance of the Pantages Hotel. Bring your sweetheart on one of these fun-filled romantic adventures.

Bivalves ‘n’ Chill

Renowned for its aphrodisiac effect, seafood makes a superb Valentine’s Day supper choice. Rodney’s Oyster House serves some of the best in the city. This expansive resto has all kinds of nooks and crannies to hide away in with your love while guzzling down deliciously fresh spoils of the ocean.

Cabbagetown is for Lovers

Just a quick TTC ride east of the hotel, you’ll find charming, historic Cabbagetown. With its 7.5 acres of scenic wooded land, ponds, gardens and farm animals, the Riverdale Farm is a welcome bit of country in the heart of the city. Stroll its winding, hilly paths hand in hand with your love. And since the farm closes in the late afternoon, you’ll want to kill a bit of time at one of the area’s fabulous boutiques. Labour of Love is ideal for a little last-minute Valentine’s Day shopping. Then dine in style at Famelia or another of the neighbourhood’s many romantic restos.

Make it Permanent

What is the ultimate symbol of your romance? Maybe it’s hearts or flowers, birds or bees, or the book or painting or song you first bonded over…. Why not immortalise your partnership with matching tattoos? Whatever emblem you decide on, Yonge Street Tattoos, just north of Pantages, has the right artist to glorify your love in style.

Skate the Eight at the Bentway

The Bentway is an innovative project that repurposes 1.75km of the land beneath the Gardiner Expressway for public use. Enjoy art, food and drink (including warming hot chocolate!) till 10pm most days and, best of all, a figure-eight skating trail that runs from Strachan Avenue to Bathurst Street. Imagine you and your sweetheart sailing along the trail, arm in arm, catching glimpses of the lake, Toronto’s downtown and the picturesque neighbourhoods to the north and the south. Left your skates at home? On Thursdays there are free skate rentals from 5 to 9pm.

Dinner and a Movie, But Better

For a truly classy take on dinner and a movie, head to the TIFF Bell Lightbox. On February 14, you can take your love to see Max Ophüls’s romantic masterpiece of 1953, The Earrings of Madame de… Set in the belle époque, the film follows the path of a pair of heart-shaped diamond earrings from France to Constantinople, from person to person, while the lead character, “Madame de…” undertakes a more interior journey.

The Lightbox is also home to Luma, an upscale restaurant that features luxurious contemporary Canadian food. With its floor-to-ceiling windows, Luma offers beautiful views of King Street West and all the downtown action.

No matter what you and your Valentine are looking to get up to this year, Toronto has an amorous adventure for you!
